Projects

Tribute Page Audit - Accessibility

A single-page tribute site for my grandfather to showcase proficiency in best accessibility practices. The page uses semantic HTML, clear visual hierarchy, and inclusive design practices, like color contrasts audited and approved per WCAG compliance tests, to ensure it can be experienced by all users. This was also an opportunity to deepen my skills in manual auditing, keyboard navigation, and screen reader testing.

JobsGuru.ai Audit - Accessibility

I returned to JobsGuru.ai, a site I helped build last summer during a front end internship, to conduct a web accessibility audit. I found issues such as missing form labels, inconsistent heading structure, and insufficient color contrast, and recommended fixes like semantic HTML, improved ARIA usage, and color adjustments to better support screen reader users and low-vision accessibility.

The user can sign in (using any username and password), select the breed their looking for, and scroll through the list of available dogs belonging to that breed. The list is fetched from an API and allows users to add (or remove) their favorite dog to/from their 'Favorites' page. Once the user has at least 3 dogs favorited, they can generate a match to determine which dog is best for them.

An image of Hunter sitting on some stairs outside looking at the camera. He has shoulder-length hair with blonde highlights,
and he's wearing a red and black patterned sweater with black pants and tan work boots.

My voyage into tech was a leap onto a new stage. One where I could take control of my own growth and embrace the thrill of an ever-evolving role. Over the past three years, I've studied and practiced frontend development, drawn to the way small details can transform a user's experience. As I learned more, I found myself coming back again and again to one essential question:

Who is this built for, and who might be left out?

That curiosity led me to accessibility. With a background in theatre and pharmacy, I bring a unique blend of empathy, creativity, and precision; skills that naturally align with inclusive design. For me, accessibility isn't just a checklist. It's a mindset. It's about building with care, designing with intention, and making sure the digital world is open to everyone who enters. Outside of work, you'll find me in the garden, lost in a book with an iced coffee in hand (yes, even in a snowstorm—it's a New England thing), wandering the woods, or enjoying the (sometimes) quiet company of my dogs.

I can't wait to meet you.
